This is a personal blog. It stores as little as it can. Here is exactly what, and why.
You do not need an account to read. The blog counts how often a post is opened, and, once a page has been visible for a few seconds, one view for it: at most one per reader every 30 minutes, and never the author reading their own post. To tell readers apart and to ignore bots it uses the anon_id cookie below, or your account when you are logged in, and a hash of your network address (never the address itself). These numbers stay on this site: nothing is shared with other sites or used for advertising.
anon_id: a random identifier, kept for one year. It is a first-party statistics cookie: it tells one browser from another for view counts and spam protection, contains nothing about you and is never read by another site.session: only if you log in. It keeps you logged in for up to 7 days and is removed when you log out.dev-mode: only for the blog owner. There are no advertising or tracking cookies.
If you sign up, the blog stores your email address, a display name and a salted hash of your password (never the password). Your email is used to confirm your address and to reset your password, and is never shown or shared. Comments you write are public and show your display name. You can delete your own comments at any time. When a comment is deleted, the blog keeps a private record of its text and who deleted it, so the owner can review removals.
If you send feedback, the blog stores your message and, if you give them, your name and email address. When you are logged in, it stores the name and email of your account. No network address is kept with it. Only the owner can read it, and uses your email only to reply to you.
If enabled, the blog uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, which does not use cookies and does not track you across sites.
To see or delete your account and everything attached to it, write to the address on the about page.
